How to move from "Good" to "Outstanding"
Creating a culture of engagement.
One would imagine (or even hope)that with the advent of Teach Meets, Pecha Kucha events, Tweeting, Skype, YouTube and online coaching with the likes of IRIS that training days would be a thing of the past. It is sometimes important, however, to get staff together – all in one room, facing the front and paying attention.
- There are times when you need to propose or devise a new working model or cultural framework for the school and get everyone ‘on board’.
- There are times when staff need to be given the opportunity to listen and experience a ‘day out for the mind’ and simply provide some intellectual light into the ‘cave and tunnel’ working life of many teachers.
- There can also be the opportunity to work with other teachers either from other departments or schools to look at new ways of working and to collaborate on new ideas and maybe even try them out.
